Environmental Finance Announces Winners of 15th Annual Market Rankings

Environmental Finance, a prominent publication covering carbon, renewable energy certificates, weather risk, and catastrophe risk markets, has revealed the winners of its 15th Annual Market Rankings. The rankings, based on votes from readers and market participants, represent the largest and most influential poll of sentiment in these sectors.

Key findings from the rankings include:

Perseverance and Optimism: Many of the winners are companies that have persevered through challenging market conditions and are now well-positioned for an upturn. Optimism has returned to several markets, particularly in the carbon sector.

Pioneers in their Sectors: The biggest winners in the rankings are often companies that have been pioneers in their respective sectors. For example, broker Evolution Markets, founded in 2000, won seven awards. Baker & McKenzie, a leading law firm in the carbon markets, established its climate change and clean energy practice in 1997.

Positive Outlook for Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs): The US RECs market has reported price increases, and leading participants such as Evolution Markets and Latham & Watkins are optimistic about its prospects.

Strong Performance in Weather and Catastrophe Risk Management: Endurance Global Weather had another successful year in the weather risk management category. In the catastrophe risk markets, Nephila Capital (fund manager), Willis, GC Securities, AIR Worldwide (advisory firm), and Reed Smith (law firm) were among the winners.

Other Recognized Firms: Several other firms were voted as winners, including CQ Partners, EOS Climate, GreenStream Network, ICE Futures Europe, Karbone, Redshaw Advisors, Sindicatum, Tradition, Tullett Prebon, and Vitol.

The full results of the rankings will be published in the Winter 2014-2015 issue of Environmental Finance and will be available online in the coming weeks.

The awards highlight the dedication and excellence demonstrated by these market participants, emphasizing their importance in shaping and driving the industry forward.
