Validate Your Renewable Energy Claims with EACs

At Redshaw Advisors, we’re here to guide you on the path to sustainable energy. With our expertise and support, we can help you transition to renewable energy and gas, enabling you to reduce your environmental impact and meet your sustainability goals.

Types of EACs We Cover

  • Guarantees of Origin (GOs): For Europe-based organisations, issued by the EECS
  • Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs): For UK based organisations, issued by Ofgem
  • Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs): For North American organisations, issued by Green-e
  • International Renewable Energy Certificates (IRECs): Global certificates, issued by the International REC Standard

Energy Attribute Certificates

Energy Attribute Certificates or EACs identify and certify renewable electricity and green gas production, distribution and consumption. They empower you to prove the source of your electricity and claim the associated benefits.

Utilising an EAC involves the process of cancellation, which retires the relevant certificate and assigns the environmental attributes of the electricity to the end user. With each EAC carrying a unique serial number tied to a particular megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity, this facilitates tracking from creation, issuance, and transfer to redemption.

We will be able to assist you in identifying the most suitable type of certification for your organisation.

Green Gas Certificates

Biomethane, or green gas, is a renewable gas generated from biodegradable materials, serving as a direct replacement for fossil natural gas. It can be derived from various sources such as anaerobic digestion, landfill gas, and synthetic gas (syngas) from biomass gasification. This renewable gas is used in national grids, providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fuels.

Claim Renewable Gas Consumption with a Green Gas Certificate

Green Gas Certificates represent a recognised Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG-P) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). With these certificates, consumers can claim 100% renewable gas consumption and report reduced Scope 1 emissions.
