The main highlights were:
- New producer subscribers at 67 (up from 63 in 2020)
- RGGO (Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin) annual retirements – 563 GWh (to end April 2021)
- RGGO quarterly retirements – 542 GWh for 1Q21 (+c.9% yoy)
- RGGO retirements on a sector basis (for FY20)
- Domestic consumers – down c.50% yoy (potentially reflecting greener consumer purchases and reduced COVID-related spending)
- Industrial /commercial – up 3% to 1,186 GWh (consistent with corporations progressively adopting more sustainable measures with green gas GOs acting as a vehicle for this)
- On feedstock – the split between crop and waste/residue feedstock was approximately even with crop issuances growing c.3% to 1,217 GWh
- Total 1Q21 GGCS issuances reached 11.3 TWh (vs the historical retirement figure of 8TWh)
